J&A Chronicles: Christmas 2008

This would be my last year as a 'single' lady...by this time in 2009 I would be engaged -- getting ready to be married three months later!!! AGH!! But I am getting ahead of myself. =)  For those of you interested, these Chronicles are laid out so that by our first wedding anniversary, I will start in on our wedding day =)
This was the year that J gave me a beautiful pendant that he designed with our jeweler.  We LOVE our jeweler -- he's amazing and has some exquisite jewelry in his store.  I was shocked when I opened this gift - It was stunning and definitely NOT something I was expecting at all. J had been feeding me the "I don't have money right now to buy you anything nice" and I knew that probably wasn't far from the truth as in the winter months, his business slows down.
Anyhow so this is my gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, I-get-compliments-all-the-time-on-it necklace that my amazing man designed for me:

Isn't it beautiful?! OK it may not be your style or taste, but that's OK. =)
We spent Christmas Eve with J's family -- opening gifts, I was still working on the sweater I was making my sister for Christmas and we spent time together with J's parents, brother and brother's girlfriend =)
Ruger even got to open a gift of treats =) YAY!
Christmas Day, J and I loaded up gifts and Ruger and made the trek to Georgia, where my parents were living at the time.  We spent a couple days there hanging out, opening presents, playing board games and having fun.

J, Jess, D & I all went to the movies one day -- although, at the moment I can't recall when we saw.
I got a new digital camera for Christmas and just LOVE the different settings it had! So I proceeded to play with them while we played board games.
Here is the sweater I made for my little sister. =) I think she likes it AND I think she still wears it.  I really need to finish the one I started for myself...hmmm next project maybe??

I love Christmas time and hanging out with my family!! Now that my parents live a mere 20 minutes away, I am kind of bummed that we won't be taking time off work and spending the night at their house for holidays.  On the other hand, being that they live so close, we see them often, so I definitely prefer them living closer to us. =)

  1. Yay Christmas! A wonderful time of year. After reading this, I'm becoming rather impatient about it.

  6. I love Christmas too and I think I agree, I'd go for the living closer vs spending the night :)
