$6 DIY Cupcake Stand

Still no word on the house we placed the offer on; but the seller only got the contract on Tuesday morning...fingers and toes are still crossed for this. I keep saying my prayers that this is in The Plan for us. I know there will be other homes, but I want this one. This was the first house we looked at that I could envision our furniture in; that I could imagine myself throwing parties/cooking in. Hopefully it works out for us!

In the meantime, to keep myself occupied, I made a cupcake stand! Well I will be using it for cupcakes, you can use it for whatever you want! =)

{Supplies}
amount of supplies are subject to the size you want
  • 3 candlestick holders ($1 ea at Dollar Tree)
  • 3 plates ($1 ea at Dollar Tree)
  • Spray paint - color of your choice (I had white satin finish at the house: it is an interior/exterior paint)
  • Adhesive -- I used E6000 that I bought for a different project that I haven't completed lol
  • newspaper -- just to keep your area clean

{Instructions}
{1} Lay out the newspaper to cover your working space. Lay out the plates and candlestick holders in preparation for painting.

{2} Spray paint supplies with a couple coats of paint. NOTE: Even though I purchased white plates, I still spray painted them just to make sure the finish/color matched the candlestick holders.
{3} Using the E6000, glue the top of the candlestick holder to the bottom of your plate. Repeat as necessary/until you run out of supplies =)
{4} Using your adhesive again, stack as desired and glue the base of the candlestick holder to the plate below it. VIOLA!
I think I may want to add some ribbon or something but that will be later =)

And of course -- I had to take some pictures of The Pup

Happy Friday Eve Everyone!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

  18. CUTE cupcake stand!!! I am def gonna do this!!! But...have you tried putting cupcakes on it yet?? I would think it'd be best to not have the candle holder at the bottom and to just have the plate as the bottom piece...
