This weekend was The Husband's birthday weekend so we partied a lot! He has been working so hard over the past several months so we felt he could let loose a little for the weekend.
On Saturday we FINALLY went to the house to get some measurements and take pictures of the inside. HE says the pictures are for us, but let's be real -- I took them to share with you =)
The living room is HUGE and has a giant plant shelf...I haven't figured out how to decorate the shelf. The Husband suggested just dry-walling it and make it just one big wall but then I have a ginormous wall to decorate lol! Any suggestions?
AND we have a massive backyard for the pup to run around in =) I'm so happy!
This weekend we are heading out to Home Goods to check out their decor -- we need pretty stuff on the cheap lol. We will be installing new floors throughout and then painting EVERY wall. if you look really close at the pictures - you can see it looks like they STARTED to repaint but didn't go any higher than they could reach without a ladder. It is very strange but it doesn't matter since we want a completely different color anyhow! We are also debating on 5" baseboards...the 3" are nice BUT they are small on those giant walls. We haven't figured out whether or not we will go that route or maybe do a 'faux' baseboard. We'll see how tired we are when we get to that point lol!
This weekend we are also going to be getting into some DIY projects, so I will be sharing those with you really soon =)
I hope you are having a great week so far!
Beautiful home!! Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You're going to be able to do so many fun decorative things to really make it feel like home. Congrats girl!
ReplyDeleteI love it! thanks for sharing girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing, looks beautiful. So jealous of your big backyard!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it!!!! The color of the walls is so buttery and yummy! I'm not a fan of fake plants either and I have HORRIBLE allergies, so when I see those plant shelves all I see is a dust collector. I'm with your hubby - dry wall over it! It will be so much easier to decorate a large wall than to dust that shelf and everything that lays on it :) Congrats girl!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh those plant shelves can be used for LOTS of things, such as decorations (not plants), trophies, etc! I wouldn't get rid of them!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Especially those arched doorways. As far as the plant ledges go, you could always decorate the one in the living with some cute stuff, but for the actual rooms, I wouldn't worry about those too much.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all the afters! :)
Your home is amazing! It's just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside! Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteWow, your new house is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI would kill for your backyard!
Love the house and the glimpse you shared with us! When can you guys start working on painting and things? We have tall baseboards in our house and I love them! I think you could use the plant shelfs for lots of things too, like baskets, some plants, pictures, and I am sure other things!
ReplyDeleteEEK! It looks great! :)
ReplyDeleteThe house looks very spacious! I CAN'T WAIT to see you work your magic on this house and show us all the DIY's along the way! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteit's gorgeous!! love the bathroom :)
ReplyDeleteI love the house, it looks awesome! Can't wait to see your "after" pictures! I really like that eating "nook" in the kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteI have a plant ledge in my master bedroom and we just leave it "empty". I like to think of it as an architectural element, and not as much a shelf. It might look cool if you paint the area behind it a shade lighter or darker. I wouldn't dry wall over it, though!
Oh my gosh, it's HUGE! (and beautiful!!) I can't wait to see the after pics!
ReplyDeleteaaaaaaaah! GORGEOUS! so excited to see what y'all do with it all. seriously, I love it!
ReplyDeletei love it! so beautiful! i can picture you doing some amazing cooking in that kitchen!!! :)
