The Importance of Good People

Thank goodness it is FINALLY Friday! UGH! My days have flown by but I feel like the week has been dragging on and on!  I am very excited about going to look at homes tomorrow too so I'm a little antsy for the weekend.

I am so very fortunate to have an amazing group of friends.  I know I have talked about this in the past Here and probably in several other posts, and how lucky I am to have such an amazing support system.  I am going to talk about it again. I probably hold on to that so tightly because, honestly, growing up and even in college I only had a handful of friends -- literally like 2 at a time. I don't know why -- I think I am likeable, but that is neither here nor there. =)

I truly value the friendships I have made since stepping out into the world.  Our group isn't huge and I do have a few friends outside this main circle of people.  The people that I chose to have in my life show one another so much love and compassion. They are there for one another at their worst and brattiest.  That is so much more important -- it isn't enough to support someone when they are bright and shiny; they have to support you in the hard and stuggling times.  I know that if I ever needed anything while J was away, I could call any of these friends.  Heck, I have even had some of my girl friends offer to spend the night with me so I am not alone! How sweet is that?! =)

I won't show you old pictures that you have already seen is so many of my other posts.  I am going to share a new reason why my love for my friends is going strong.

Our friends, Shaun and Katie, are getting married on Monday downtown with friends and family.  They aren't doing anything big -- they will travel to the beach to take all their photos.  They decided to do this pretty recently in lieu of a big wedding (they have been engaged about a year and dating for several). We are all thrilled for them but they would miss out on the rights of passage -- bridal shower, bachelor/ette parties. SO while Shaun went out of town for his bachelor party, the girls got together and planned a surprise bachelorette party for last night!  Some of us couldn't make it but we had a lot of fun with the handful of girls that were able to be there.  Katie was very happy and VERY surprised!
We showed up at Katie's house with gifts and bachelorette paraphenalia:

We went to Moe's for dinner -- YUM! =)

The main event was The Melting Pot for dessert. Can I just tell you that dessert there is RIDICULOUS! YUMMY! I LOVE that place.  Chocolate Fondu is seriously a gift from God!! It is so so good! I could eat fondue EVERY. DAY.

It was so much fun being a part of a surprise bachelorette party -- especially since Katie had NO idea! Great job getting it all set up, Christy! =)
Hold on to the good people in your life -- don't let the lame ones bring you down.  Clean out your proverbial friend drawer and make sure it is only filled with quality people.  Seriously in cases like these, it is more important that you have quality over quantity.

Well I am off to catch up on some stuff a little -- I am trying to stay motivated today, especially since I would much rather be at home with J.

Have you ever been a part of a surprise party?

Miscellany Monday

I don't know if I am disappointed or relieved its Monday -- how sad is that?! I am just SO exhausted -- I don't have it in me to share much.  SO I am linking up with lowercase letters for some MM.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{1} My sissy's bridal shower was a huge success!! I am so happy she had such an amazing time and I can't wait to share all the details, pictures and games with you! In the meantime, here are just a few teasers.

{2} We were almost rained out of the bachelorette party -- so we had to improvise and ended up at Howl at the Moon. I was DD so it wasn't over the top fun for me, but I was highly enteretained people watching and seeing my baby sis let loose =) I am so happy I was able to plan it all out for her and make it so that she had an awesome time.  More teasers from that....

{3} She made us all shirts to wear while getting ready, so we wore them to breakfast on Sunday morning.

{4} Have I mentioned I am exhausted?!

{5} Most of Sunday I spent in and out of sleep.  I did the good wifey thing and cleaned/did laundry -- which didn't take long. Thank goodness we maintain throughout the week!!

{6} My daddy was in Reno for the National Bowling Tournament, but J and I did spend Sunday night dinner with his family.  We surprised his dad by taking him to Vito's chophouse. WOW! It was divine! I had a Hawaiian Cosmo and it was fabulous. OH and we all split an Almond Tiramisu which was heavenly! YUM!

{7} We went and looked at houses on Friday afternoon.  I was disappointed in most of them. Seriously -- some people are just SO dirty! OH! AND the first house we stopped at had the tenant THERE. He didn't have a shirt on and kind of gave off a creepy vibe. YUCK! WORD OF ADVICE: If you ever sell your house, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for the love of all things not creepy -- do NOT be in the house while it is being shown.  AWKWARD!

{8} I am NOT in the mood to do anything today. I told J that we are NOT making plans for this coming weekend. It isn't allowed. I'm just so tired and I am tired of not being able to sleep past 6 because we have had so much going on. AND I am tired of having so much going on...I am ready for a day of relaxation.  Hopefully we get that here this next weekend.

{9} I hope this week goes by quickly and smoothly -- have I mentioned how tired I am?! I need to also get back in a workout routine...maybe I will get back into it tonight??...But then again I am spending tonight celebrating Father's Day with my Daddy since he will be back from Reno in a few hours =)

{10} I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that the coming week is kind to you lol!

What are your random thoughts this Monday Morning?

J & A Chronicles: The Bachelorette (Party)

Happy Friday Y'all (and can you believe I'm getting sick?!)!!!  We're getting so close to starting the recap of the wedding in all its goodness and glory!! I am so excited because well, I LOVE wedding pictures =)
This MAY be the last J&A post without wedding pictures...I haven't decided yet =)

My bacheloretter party was on a Saturday night last January -- I can't believe how fast a year has gone!!
One of my bridesmaids hosted the party and it was perfect! Everyone met at my parent's house to have lasagna, cake & wine before heading out.

We went to a piano bar where random people gave me beads and bought me shots. I was also pulled up onto the stage to be serenaded =)

This guy gave me the beads

Christy bought my first shot -- Lemon Drop
Random girl bought me a Washington Apple shot -- I have no idea what she was saying to me

We eventually made our way over to a dance club.  There was a REALLY old guy tryin' to dance with all the girls that walked in.  Needless to say, he provided us with much needed entertainment =)
Then there was this guy, he wanted to dance for me since it was my bachelorette party. I was drunk but slightly embarrassed -- but we all got a kick out of it.
I had on a light up ring so when someone would walk away from the group, I would get texts to turn on my ring and hold it in the air so they could find the group again.  It was brilliant and too funny =)
We all made our way to the dance floor where random guys jumped into the backgrounds of our pictures and a couple other guys kept asking us who in the group was single. we didn't sell out anyone in the group to them haha =)
Gummi Bear Shot

see the random guy?!

Our last stop was the karaoke bar.  We didn't sing because it was late BUT we did enjoy watching other people and hanging out until they closed down.

I didn't have nights like this in college or high school where I went out clubbing or drinking so I have no comparison BUT this night had to have been one of THE premier party nights EVER haha =)
