A Little Bit of Life

*Life has been pretty low key in our household.  We are quickly approaching our first anniversary and trying to plan for that weekend.  We thought we would get away for the weekend but that doesn't seem to be possible due to J's work schedule and when his coworkers have taken time off. So we are going to make that weekend about us.
I want to go to St. Augustine on Saturday and then on the way home stop in Port Orange at Red Robin. Have you been to this restaurant? It is a chain that is found mostly in the North but there are a few in Florida! I am VERY happy about that =) I mean really -- how could you NOT be excited about a place that serves this:
Yeah that's what I thought haha =)
On Sunday we have already planned a dinner date to a really nice steak place in town. I am looking forward to that.  I am thinking we will hit up the movies that day  -- I am wanting to see Red Riding Hood and The Adjustment Bureau. The former is one of the first scary movies I have wanted to see in a WHILE so The Husband is excited =)

*Do you think it is weird that I plan on sending out another round of Thank You cards as we are approaching our first anniversary?  I am thinking to our photographers -- since they gave us the photography as a wedding gift, our parents and the wedding party. So would that be odd??

*My mom bought a Groupon for a 16X20 canvas print and bought my sister and I one.  We were able to decide which picture we wanted. I used one from our Trash the Dress session.  J picked it actually -- it is one of his favorite pictures:
I haven't figured out where we will hang it.  I LOVE the quality though.  It is so pretty! This one was ordered through Canvasondemand.com
I definitely plan on ordering a couple when we move to our new house and definitely a split canvas:
I love it! I think I will crop it a little differently when I officially order it but I was just playing around real quick =) This one was 'created' at personalizationmall.com. I am in LOVE!

*Week 7: Time*
I am really pleased with my photo interpretation of 'Time' =) What do you think?

*I played with Ruger-dog this weekend -- actually he played, I photographed.  I have been taking him for runs again which I'm sure he loves.  He was starting to get a little thick -- I don't want me a chunky dog haha!

Isn't he handsome?! =) And yes his tongue is ACTUALLY that huge and barely fits in his face haha! =)

*I am officially back to working out -- well at least for the past 2 days. I hope to stay with it, I have missed it.  The running is so good for my spirit and overall demeanor! What helps keep you level?

*This girl has motivated me a LOT.  She is funny and she runs for her mental and emotional health. If you haven't checked her out, head over to The Hungry Runner Girl -- she is amazing and motivating. Her husband decided (through research) that chocolate milk is an excellent source of protein for workout recoveries. I'm loving it! It is like a happy reward/treat for working out =)

*My finger has healed very well -- the tiny stitches are still existent.  I haven't had a band aid on it for the past 12 hours but I am thinking I need to put on back on because I keep messing with the stitches.  That can't be good for it haha =)

Happy halfway through the week lovelies! I hope you are having a good week!!

Weekend Recap & Week 6

This weekend we had our friend date to celebrate Valentine's Day together. I forgot my camera at home so no pictures from me =/ We went to a new Mexican restaurant where I didn't eat because I was not feeling well.  I did, however, manage to split a pitcher of margarita with my girl Christy. =)
After dinner we walked over to the theatre where we saw Just Go With It.
I REALLY enjoyed the movie -- I thought Jenn Aniston was SO cute and I loved how Queen B she was when pretending to be Sandler's wife. So funny! =)
J and I watched Eagle Eye and Transformers.  We had previously seen both BUT it was on my list for my Day Zero Project =) Other than that, we had a very laid back weekend. I am still recovering from being sick, I wanted to take it easy for the most part to try and clear it out of my system.
Week 6: Red

To make me feel better, J went out and bought me Starburst -- other than this the only red I really saw this week/weekend was the red accent wall in our house and THAT is not interesting haha =)

You'll have to forgive me for my lack of Valentine's Day enthusiasm. J and I express our love EVERY day -- I know. It is disgusting to a lot of people out there.  We have never really celebrated Valentine's, which doesn't hurt my feelings. This weekend, all of a sudden, he tells me he has a surprise planned. Um, excuse me?! But I thought we didn't do anything. So now I'm stuck -- am I supposed to do something back? Get a card? Maybe it is nothing and I am overreacting =) Yes, I am sure that is it.... I'll get him a card just in case haha =) I just hope he doesn't plan on TAKING me anywhere tonight -- especially since my hair dryer kicked the bucket this morning.
Happy Monday!

Weekend Recap & Week 5: Ennui

Happy Monday!!!  Is it sad that I am excited about Monday because I will be in bed at a decent time for the next few days?! =)
Our weekend was FULL of stuff and late nights! I am so happy to have to go home and relax and then go to sleep at a normal time haha.
On Friday night, I was well enough to sing with Larry.  It was fun -- I think at one point there were 60 people there.  I loved having that many people in the crowd -- they cheered and clapped and gave us warm fuzzies =) We had such a great time!

For some reason the owner likes having this screen down with crazy designs swirling every where like it is 1980 or something. Thank goodness for the camera flash haha =)

On Saturday night, we went to The Barn to see Crossin' Dixon play.  The lead singer is a good friend of J's, so we made the trip up to support them.  If you haven't heard of them, go check them out here or here. We got to Sanford early and went to eat at a place called Big Boy -- new restaurant; Yay me!  All I could think of was that commercial where the guy on the airplane is giving his password over the phone "Big Boy".  Hilarious!

After eating a massive burger (YUM!) and sharing a rootbeer float with J, we made our way to The Barn, where J scored an armband that got him free drinks all night.  Needless to say, I was DEFINITELY the D.D. =) We had a great time and the band was awesome.  They sounded like they have spent additional time on their harmonies; it sounded very solid =)

We didn't get to bed until about 3:30 AM!!! We were up relatively early on Sunday to try to get all the chores finished and laundry put away before heading to my parent's house for the Super Bowl. I won't go into a long speech about the game, but I was disappointed with the way the offense played on the Steelers team. If it wouldn't have been for the 3 turnovers, the Green Bay Packers were definitely out played. Oh well, I'm still a fan -- I'll still don my black and gold =)
Hopefully this coming weekend will be a little more laid back =)

Project 52 - Week 4: Reflection
& Miscellany Monday

First Off -- since everyone has been posting pictures of the weather in their neck of the woods, I thought I would post one to share from Florida that I took on Saturday while walking the D-O-G.
It was warm-ish on Saturday -- like 70*! But we had a great time walking.  This is where I found my inspiration for Week 4 of the Project 52: Reflection
The water was SO calm and just perfect for this challenge. AND Ruger was even cooperative. =)

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
--I'm still sick. =/ I stayed on the couch all weekend, except when I took the dog for a walk on Saturday morning.  How am I still sick?! I took cold medicine and drank lots of fluids! ugh! I'm staying home on the couch another day in hopes of getting better by tomorrow.  Do you think that's possible??

--We watched more movies since I was restricted to the couch yesterday:
Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Con Air

Men In Black

Casino Royale
Casino Royale Poster

We also spent time catching up on some of our shows: Modern Family, Rules of Engagement & Castle.

--I have to call in this afternoon to see if I have jury duty tomorrow.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I DO NOT have it, especially since I am not going into work today, I will need to get my work done tomorrow.

--I love my husband! He took care of me all weekend and made some fresh squeezed orange juice in hopes to help me feel better. He also gave me lots of hugs and cuddles and consequently, he started getting sick.  THANKFULLY he isn't stubborn and took some meds immediately.  He never got what I have and is feeling great today; Lukcy!

I hope you all had lovely weekends!

Project 52: Week 3 &
Recipe:: The Messiest Cookies EVER

Project 52: Week 3 - Self Portrait

I saw a link on FB from Becky Bakes, who happened to find this next amazing recipe:

{RECIPE} - The Messiest Cookies EVER: A.K.A.

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 sticks softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.

-In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.
-Using a cookie scoop (or small spoon), take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie.
-Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie.
-Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough.  ** I found that it was easier if you had flour on your hands.  This way the dough doesn't stick to you.  Beware -- I had flour ALL OVER THE PLACE!!
-Place onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown.
-Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

These are AMAZING! AND they are perfect with a cold glass of milk =) The Husband thinks I am THE Greatest Ever ♥
Let me know if you try the recipe out!

My Sister's Engagement Party & Week 2 of Project 52

This past Saturday, I helped coordinate the engagement party hosted by my parents for my sister and her fiance. We tend to lay low when everyone gets together to hang out and this event was no different =) My mom made a cake and we had Sonny's cater.  If you want a one stop, AFFORDABLE catering service for a laid back event, call Sonny's.  They provided the main course, sides, drinks, AND more plates, napkins, cups, straws, utensils than necessary! =) oh AND the food is pretty darn tasty =)
The party started off with a little Wii Frisbee Golf action before the Steelers/Ravens game (Woo Steelers!!)

Jess has SIX bridesmaids, but only 4 of us could make it to the party.  2 girls that came are from NC and made the trip down to see her and hang out for the weekend.

We had a great group show up and fun was had by all!

OK so Week 2 of Project 52 was Food.  I wish I would have taken my camera to Sushi night on Friday night but alas, I forgot! SO I am going to use pictures of food from the engagement party.
