If You Really Knew

If you really knew me, you would know that I am ultra protective of those who are close to me. When someone speaks ill of me, I move on and let it go.   Granted, we won’t be friends and I probably won’t speak to you but I can move on.  If you do something to someone I care about or speak poorly of them, beware! Because mama bear is coming out!  When someone I care about is done wrong, I have a very hard time letting go.  Especially when the person who has been wronged is an important person in my life.  It is hard for me to come back around and get on board.

If you really knew me, you would know that generally when I go shopping and see something I like but can't justify the purchase, I will leave it at the store.  I will go back and buy it if I have thought about it a couple times since the shopping trip.  If I forget about it, then I didn't really want it.  The flaw to this plan is  sometimes when I go back to buy it, someone else has and there aren't any more to be had.  Something I should probably do is buy it and then if I decide I don’t like it/don’t want it, I can always return it.  But if you really knew me, you know that I am terrible about returning things!

If you really knew me, you would know that I have a really good memory; especially with details that most people would miss.  Have you seen this ecard:

 

Yeah, that’s me.  I have found that a lot of people aren’t really so observant. To prove the point, at lunch one day I bought a different outfit and wore it in to work after lunch.  NO ONE noticed that I had changed. Make sure you take the time to look at people and see them. Don’t just glance their way, see them, notice things. It makes a huge impact for people.

If you really knew me, you would know that I quote and reference the most obscure moments in movies. There was an employee we hired and his last name was Nesbit….I referenced Toy Story…

This is my life people...and now I will go home and watch this movie today haha! Oh and don’t try to tell me my Disney quote is wrong, I am pretty sure I could be a one-woman wonder and recite almost any of the Disney classics.

Top 12 of 2012!

Hey y'all!!! I can honestly say I am shocked at how quickly 2012 came and went! I am so thankful for this past year and everything it brought.  The Husband and I are ecstatic to see what 2013 brings!

TIED: celebrating my mom and dad's 50th birthdays this year.  We threw a surprise party for my dad at our house.  For my mom, we were going to also set up a surprise party, however, she managed to find out so we  went through with the plans but she had input on the guest list =) we had so much fun!

Is it Friday YET?!

Ughhhh this week has been so long AND I have been working my tail off!

Somehow that has not made the days fly by.

I swear I am working away thinking it HAS to be close to lunch.

Alas, I check the clock and I've only been at work an hour!

Yep. That's how this week has been!

Last night was super fun though! I think our office Christmas party gets better every year.

I haven't uploaded pictures yet - heck I haven't even LOOKED at the pictures from last night yet!

There is still so much to do before this weekend! ...

Oh gosh! I was going to tell you about something, but it is a surprise.

Then I just started having a little panic attack because I was worried I had posted about it yesterday.

...

I don't think I did....NO, someone would have called me about it.

WHEW! That's a relief!

OK so we have been with this cell carrier for less than two years...

to say I am unsatisfied is a gross understatement but that's for another day.

I have had problem after problem with my phone. I have gone through warranty and gotten three of the exact same phones. I have continued to have the same problems.  They sent me two new batteries.  Still having the same problems.  they gave me a new sim card - still the same issues. Needless to say, I have deduced that the phone is just a PIECE!

One night in November, The Husband and I went out with friends and had a few drinks...

before the end of the night (ie 7:00 PM!) I may or may not have dropped my phone in the toilet...OOPS!

Let me just tell you that was NOT the intention...no really - it wasn't!

So we go to the phone store and tell them I need to get another one using my insurance.

Oh - BTW - this was my first time having to use my phone insurance...EVER!

So the lady says that I probably won't get the same phone because they don't produce those any more.

Well a few days go by and I got the SAME. PHONE! I knew I would be the only person to get that phone again even after they stopped manufacturing them!

Fast forward to this past Monday...so it hadn't been 30 days and I was still having the SAME EXACT issues! sooo annoyingg!

I got with the insurance peeps and told them what was going on. They decide to send me and new phone and said you probably won't get the same phone blah, blah, blah...

The phone arrived yesterday...and guess what!?

I finally got another phone! WOOO!!

I feel so high tech and fancy now because it has a flash AND I can take self pictures. 

 Now you'll have to put up with seeing how cute I am at all times! holla!!! Ok not really but i'm pretty excited about this new phone.  We are still going to switch back to our other provider because the service we have had isn't good. 

Anyways - that is my exciting news for the day =)

Ode to Friday and the Amazing Things toWhich I am Anticipating

I am SOOOOO happy it is Friday! It has been a long week so far.  That is probably because I have been anticipating a couple things this week, including my girl's upcoming wedding! I'm so so excited about it! I have been working diligently with her to get all these amazing details sorted out and made.  I can't wait to see it all come together! =)  I will definitely be dedicating a post to the things we made for the wedding.  I'm so proud of all the things we did!

I am planning on a pretty chill night...oh who are we kidding?! I am going to get my bangs - yes only my bangs - trimmed and then I hope to get a little shopping done.  Just a couple things, maybe some cute accessories =)  That is if I don't work late - blech =/

Saturday is another long run - The past three Saturdays have started with an 8 mile run. The first was BRUTAL! The second was awesome and I felt fabulous -- of course that was the first time that I had not gone out, partied, or stayed up late the night before.  That MIGHT have something to do with it, no? Last week was rough; we only ran once during the week so we weren't really prepped for the 8 miler.  I don't know what distance we are planning for tomorrow..we may up it only a half mile - I'm afraid of 9 right now but hopefully we can push through tomorrow morning.

Sunday will be all about priming and going to the wedding. I. CANT. WAIT!!!! For reals I am so thrilled to have been such a big part of their planning and making all the little details so special for this couple. Oh and they are an amazing couple to be around! I'm excited to share everything next week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hi Y'all!!! Busy Busy Busy over here! I have all sorts of crafts and events that I want to share with you. In the meantime, here are the things I'm Loving today!

I started decorating for Autumn...it is the first time EVER that I have bought or made anything to decorate for a season OTHER THAN Christmas.  I'm very excited about it =) 

 

This adorable little filing thingy from Ikea! I LOVE that it is pink =) it livens up my desk area...oh and don't mind the empty candy jar. Jackie won't let me fill it until AFTER her wedding! =) 

 

OOOOO I got a 30% off coupon for Kohl's! AND I have Kohl's cash! Let's see what I find this week =) 

 

This ribbon I found at Walmart. Jackie (yes her again) was looking for a ribbon for a little wedding thing she is doing that reflects HER. she LOVES Sponge Bob Square Pants so I was ecstatic to find this ribbon and so was she =) yay!

 

I'm loving that we are halfway through the week already and that The Husband doesn't have any work this weekend...I'm loving that Football Sundays have officially started.  We hosted a successful one at our house this past Sunday for The Husband's birthday (more on that later).  I'm loving - absolutely adoring - my amazing husband who is starting his company in full force again beginning next week. I'm so proud of him! I'm loving my super sweet friends and my even more super sweet and awesome family!

This Past Week in Pictures

I didn't end up taking any pictures this weekend. The Husband worked all day Saturday and I went to Joanns with my mom, sister, and Jess J. Sunday The Husband and I stayed at the house until dinner, then went to our fave Mexican restaurant with Marc and Christy for some two for one drinks and yummy food.  Monday we spent most of the day running errands and then at his parent's house.  It was nice to see The Husband for two consecutive days of a weekend! yay! =) He has been SOOOO busy with work - it was nice to have us time again =)

The Final Countdown

Hey Y'all!!!!  This past weekend I started planning.

Planning for what? the rest of the year...can you believe July is over?!

I mean a YEAR ago today, my seeester was getting MARRIED

Happy Anniversary Jess and Douggles!!!! I KNOW you have been looking forward to eating year old cake =)

Anywho - I sat down this weekend and started planning some things I would like to do this year and when - a to-do list of sorts.   

one.This Friday we are headed out to see my brother-in-law's white-boy-reggae band as he so affectionately describes them =) They are playing at a local restaurant near the college that I haven't eaten at, pretty much since graduating! I am looking forward to this date night for two reasons: 1. the FOOD and music 2. a casual dinner date/get-together with my work BFF and her almost husband. I'm SO excited! They haven't met The Husband yet but I absolutely adore these two. They are so much fun and so sweet.  

two. September is The Husband's birthday. I don't know what we are doing for it and I have NO CLUE what to get him. That's what I have to figure out what to do and what to get or make...maybe I can figure out something to make him  that he would love??? who knows! 

three.  Thankfully I didn't have to pick this one over The Husband's as number 1 in my heart for the countdown!  The NFL season officially kicks off the FIRST regular season game of the 2012 - 2013 season in September - September 9th to be exact! 40 days!!!! I am THRILLED! I LOVE football season - we have football Sundays every week and gather with a group of friends and my family. It is always SO fun and the food is always phenomenal! I have a feeling it is going to be bigger this year than it has in the past two =) I'm excited! yay football!!!

four. In 71 days we will be celebrating our FIFTH anniversary of being together. Actually this week marks 5 years that I have LIVED with The Husband...yes, I lived with him for about two months before actually dating him =)   So we are sitting around talking, trying to decide what to do. Any suggestions?! We had WANTED to go on a cruise, but that isn't going to happen so maybe something a little closer to home. oh and it is on a week night =/ MAYBE go to Cirque Du Soleil?! 

five. November 3 - 95 days - I will be hosting a Pampered Chef Party.  I was going to just have a traditional one but THEN The Husband said if it was centered around chocolate that he would join. My dad agreed.  So with his help, I have decided to do a wine-in/chocolate themed COUPLES pampered chef party! I am SO excited!!!! I can't wait! 

six. The weekend after I host is the Jr League of America Holiday Gift Shop.  The Husband and I went two years ago with my parents and really had a good time. We didn't get to go this past year, what with the moving and everything SOOOOO I have already marked our calendars to go in 102 days!!!! 

seven. In the next 124 days, I plan to have my Christmas shopping and gift making complete. Yes that is probably unreasonable on my part BUT at least I have goals! 

eight. There are 147 days until Christmas! WOOOO!!! I can't wait! in case you didn't know, I LOVE the Christmas holiday, season, EVERYTHING about it! I can't wait! 

So there you have it =) all wrapped up neatly - things I am most DEFINITELY looking forward to - of course, not everything is on this list. These are just the big 'milestones' for the rest of the year. I can't believe 2012 is already almost over! I know I know - there are still 154 days left in the year...that only means 211 have passed...see how fast THAT was?! =)

Sunshine for My Soul

Do you ever wished you blogged 100% anonymously??

no? I'm the only one??

Sometimes I need an outlet just to vent.

I don't feel like I can really let loose because EVERYONE I know reads my little blog. Trust me - I LOVE keeping friends and family in the loop

and I love that I have met so many wonderful people in blog-land.

I have to keep telling myself that if I would have blogged anonymously, I wouldn't have created relationships with some of you wonderfuls! That would truly be a travesty!  I can't help but WANT to have somewhere to have some sort of anonymity BUT then I wouldn't have anyone to share it with; I wouldn't have comments or 'fans' or people to give me a different perspective. I would just be venting into nothingness - which is helpful if you just need to scream.

But sometimes people are mean/rude/spiteful and I want to talk about it.

I'm really sensitive about people - when I react to something, it is usually me thinking about whether it could be offensive or hurt someone in the group I am with. my feelings don't necessarily get hurt easily - unless we are close friends or you are family. I completely let my guard down around friends and family...mostly. 

Over the past couple weeks there have been people in my life who have hurt me.

Nothing MAJOR - but things were said or done and it didn't really fly with me.

Something about this girl here is that I didn't always have friends - for real. 

if you have been around these parts for any length of time, you know I'm SUPER close with my family. So I take any and all friendships to heart. 

BECAUSE of this, I don't always say when something has hurt me.

It is just so much easier to avoid that sort of conflict ....

that AND most of the people in my life are 'new' to it...

as in the last 2-7 years. Sometimes I'm not sure how they will react to my blunt honesty.  The Husband and I don't have this issue -so don't worry about my happy little marriage =) 

Anyhow - I'm rambling but I think these are the reasons that this place, this blog, hasn't been filled with all sorts of randoms and ramblings and stories - I guess I am struggling internally with other things that I feel are probably inconsequential; they just rubbed me the wrong way. 

In light of this epiphany - I started making a list.  

I've deemed it:

seriously - it rhymed at one point and it was seriously TERRIBLE...like I laughed while I rhymed it!  but hey I'm a crafter NOT a writer! I had to stop because I was crying from laughing!

A Little Bit of Life

First things first -- I can NOT believe that it is already Wednesday!! Where has this week gone?! I have seriously had SO much going on at work and then the nights are lazy, hanging out/watching movies and it is time for bed. Wake up and repeat. 

Last Friday night, I participated in Relay for Life.  

My mom was a team captain and my sister was the chair person for the entire event.

The above picture was taken during the luminaria walk.It was incredible.

The event was a huge success and I clocked 4.5 miles while I was there.

Other than that - I worked on Saturday....I know! BOO!!!

I sound like a broken record "I'm SO busy"

it is true though - I think there is finally an end in sight!

Sunday The Husband and I spent the day watching movies and doing house chores.

We watched Unkown with Liam Neeson.  Definitely didn't see that one coming! 

We watched Friends with Benefits.  I normally don't like Mila Kunis...

mostly because she was SO obnoxious in That 70's Show.  

I LOVED her in this movie. Very funny!

The next movie we were going to watch is part of the Twilight saga.

It was the wrong movie =/ SO we have to wait to get the right one from Netflix.

In the meantime, we have Black Swan and Changeling to watch. 

Last night, I hand crafted a couple items for the swap in which I am participating. I'm so so excited about the swap - a package filled with items of my favorite color?!  YES PLEASE!!! 

I am just so excited! I liked the items I am sending my partner Colletta so much that I made some for myself!  I can't share here because I haven't sent out the package yet...AND she hasn't received it.

I would really like to go to the beach soon. 

I want to fall asleep in the sun - I love napping outside!

Maybe I can talk The Husband into taking me out to the beach.

He can shore fish and I can nap or read a book =) 

Sounds like the perfect day to me!

I think that catches you up on my week =)

Nothing overly exciting which is fine - sometimes we need to slow down!

I'm really looking forward to getting into the summer months 

and planning outdoor excursions!

142 Cupcakes and Being Busy at Work

HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!!!

I am SO SUPER busy at work! 

I get there early and leave late. I'm swamped!

By the time I get home, I am SO tired, I am not doing anything except relaxing.

Except for last night - I baked 142 cupcakes

Actually I made 144 cupcakes - but The Husband thought he needed to taste test.

And yes, they were mini - not full sized. But still. 

I made them to sell for Relay for Life.

My mom and sister each have a team, my sister is the Chair Person for the event.

Silly girl - she can't help but volunteer.  She already has a lot on her plate...

but it is for a good cause. And I will go and support them! =) YAY!

I have no plans for the weekend other than helping with this event.

I'm hoping for a relaxing Sunday and maybe a crafty Saturday.

I know - how boring am I?! 

But seriously - I have to have some down time where I am not stressed.

Work has me stressed to the max and I'm just exhausted.

On top of that silliness, I think I am getting sick =( 

I plan on running 3-4 miles tonight at the relay in hopes of pushing it out of my system.

Oh and I am totally going back to get this watch:

I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since trying it on

and it is like 60% less than retail! I should have just gotten it yesterday...

but that isn't my style ;)
