This Means War

You will be delighted to know that this post title has nothing to do with my life or potential drama in it! Woo HOO!!! I am talking about the movie.

After the chili cook off on Saturday, we headed to the movies. First of all, I just want to say that AMC ticket prices are INSANE! Thankfully we had gift cards and I always ALWAYS smuggle snacks in my purse.

This Means War Movie

I absolutely 100% LOVE Reese Witherspoon. I think she is so talented oh and how about she is gorgeous! Do I hear girl crush?! I watched Legally Blonde and Sweet Home Alabama on Sunday because I think she is amazing. ESPECIALLY in Legally Blonde- the role she almost turned down! (I know these aren't her very best movies - but they are the ones I own lol)
The men in this movie were super fun to look at and they acted well. Don't roll your eyes - sometimes people are cast in a movie for their look but they can't act a lick! There are a handful of movies that I feel are like this but I won't hate on them =) Maybe I just don't get it =)
This Means War
Overall - I would most certainly give this movie an A! It was funny, romantic, had some action, had some crazy...it ran the gamut! Seriously - something in this film for everyone =) ....except maybe the kiddies! =)
The story line was fun, albeit a tiny predictable, but come on! It was a rom-com with some action built in...there is USUALLY a little element of predictability. That just goes with the territory.
This Means War
I recommend this movie hands down - it was a great date night film! Yes - The Husband also found it extremely entertaining.

In other news - I received my Favorite Things Swap package! I'll be posting about it tonight when I get home =)

Have you seen any movies lately?
Do you warn people about bad movies?

Dodgeballs and a Safehouse

Hi Everyone!! This weekend I FINALLY got some of that downtime and rest that I have been wanting. I feel so much better today than I have lately because I actually had time to breathe. Our weekend was actually full of movies! Friday night when I got home from work, I had a hankering to watch Dodgeball - especially after talking about Jason Bateman on Wednesday. We watched it and I have to tell you - it is a lot funnier than I remember it being! =) We laughed a lot which is so good for the soul.
Saturday morning we got up and ran a couple earrands and went Valentine's Day shopping. We don't go all out and usually we pick the presents out together and MOST times for Valentine's, it is something smaller. Afterwards, we went back home and my parent's picked us up to go to the movies. We went and saw Safehouse
Denzel Washington is such a bad-ass! I LOVE him! I honestly wasn't sure that I would like Ryan Reynolds in this role. Don't get me wrong - he is fun to look at and I think he is really funny. BUT this was a VERY intense role and I wasn't sure that he would convince me enough. I know what you are thinking - "he was in Amityville Horror, which was a serious role". I know, I know but this was a little bit different - especially because there are so many elements that aide a scary movie: lighting, music, things popping out at ya! BUT, if you ask me, in a drama/action/thriller - whatever it was - a lot relies on the acting and not so much the setting.
Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington Star in Safe House
I was pleasantly surprised by Ryan Reynolds and I totally recommend you see this movie. It had a bit of conspiracy in it - but how could it not?! It was thrilling and had a couple great car chases and some good ass kicking =) Loved it!

Sunday The Husband got up at 3:30 AM! to go fishing! EEK! I wasn't able to go back to sleep so I got up and went out on the couch. VH! was hosting a tribute to Whitney Houston -- so so sad -- so I had that on. I was so mesmerized by her; she had such an incredible voice. After about an hour of her music videos at 5AM, I turned on The Notebook.
I have only seen the movie once at a girl's night; we were so social that night that I didn't really get into the movie. I enjoyed it =) I really like Rachel McAdams - she is so stinkin cute!
I FINALLY FINALLY got my craft room unpacked. I realized that I need to stop waiting to get the shelving and stuff and just organize it.  Seriously the room was a huge disaster. I'll share those pictures this week once I get the closet doors hung. I'm so happy to have all the boxes going out with the trash this morning. We are finally FOR REAL unpacked! I'm excited! Now all I need is a new tabletop for my craft island :)
After J came home from fishing - we watched a couple more movies.
The Town
The movie was awesome - but you will find yourself routing for the bad guy...yeah that always feels weird to me. BUT it was a really good movie and I was impressed with Affleck's performance.
Red Ridging Hood
LOVED! I am not usually into scary movies because I'm a big baby with a really big imagination. BUT I figured because it was so fantasy based that I would be OK. I was right =) Definitely surprised by the ending - I hadn't figured it out, even though I do a lot of times.  I am wanting to see Gone with Amanda Seyfried after seeing her performance in this.

I definitely recommend all the movies that we watched this weekend. I normally don't get to watch this many movies in a weekend - we are usually incredibly busy but it was nice to have so much time to spend together; without a ton of plans =)

What did you do this weekend?
Did you see any movies?

What I'm Loving!

I'm linking up with Jamie for

I'm Loving Jason Bateman!
The Husband and I watched Horrible Bosses the other night after work. We laughed a lot - I found the movie a little disturbing but it was very funny =) My favorite part I have seen Jason Bateman in so far has to be in Dodgeball as Pepper Brooks...AMAZING

I did also enjoy him in The Change-up  =)

I'm Loving Jennifer Aniston in Horrible Bosses...it was WAY out of character for her to play the role she did. She was dirty sexy - it was weird lol. I love me some Aniston though =) I can't wait to watch these to together in The Switch =)

I'm Loving the project J and I worked on last night! we are going to finish it tonight and I can't wait to share it!! =) It looks so great already and we aren't even finished!!

I'm Loving these accessories from Forever 21

I'm Loving that it is already Wednesday!

I'm Loving that The Husband and I are working out together and eating better =) We started this about a week ago and we are both feeling great! =)

I'm Loving what J and I are planning for Valentine's and our 2nd anniversary!

I'm Loving that we cuddle most every night. =)

I'm Loving the new Kelly Clarkson cd
I know she isn't everyone's fave but girl is TALENTED and her hit songs are always catchy. I have to tell you that the songs that don't make the radio are some of the best songs she does =) I also love that she is a normal size and owns it - not everyone is built to be teeny tiny. This cd is currently on repeat on my iPod in my car =)

I'm loving my wonderful friends and family!

I'm loving the power of prayer and the calm I feel when I commune with The Lord.
I know some people in my life who could use the prayers for a variety of reasons- some for fellow bloggers, some for special friends and family, some of them are for me. I know it is hard to pray for those that remain unnamed, but every prayer counts.

I'm Loving my super amazing husband

What are you loving?

All Address Changes are Final

Well it is official! After nearly three months, everyone has made the address change. I know I know EVERYONE?! Ok so that definitely makes it sound like a lot of people but in reality it is two people and the pup =)

The Hubs and I made the change a couple weeks ago when we played hookie from work and saw Sherlock Holmes 2 - which I totally recommend that y'all go see it! ESPECIALLY if you really enjoyed the first one! I just huge pink puffy heart Robert Downey Jr. I love this side of his story/career =)

The pup still 'resided' at the old house! That would simply NOT do! So yesterday while taking my lunch break, I popped into PetSmart and had a new one made =) That laser engraving machine is pretty amazing! OK so when I got home, I put the new tag on him and tried to get a good shot of him wearing it.  Yeah - he thought I had a treat and got really really excited...it was very entertaining...

Yeah - he was tired of being my model lol so I sat on the floor with him =)

ALMOST:

and we FINALLY got a good shot of him AND the tag =)

Yay for a new tag! Obviously I can't show you the back - I love you all BUT I don't need to get random creepers calling me or knocking on my door! =) So you get a front view =)

So after almost three months of owning a home, all the address changes have FINALLY been made...That is really impressive considering after nearly two years of wedded bliss I think I still have some stuff that is addressed to my maiden name! WHOOPSIE!!! =)

Happy Halfway Through The Week!!

How long does it take you to make all your address changes?
If you are married, did it take FOREVER to make all the name changes?

Using a Torch to Make S'mores is Best

Hi! So I wanted to talk about some of the things J and I did this weekend that did NOT involve having the truck hit haha =)

Saturday night we went to House of Blues to a concert for my dad's birthday.

The opening band was amazing!  They are Anchored
They were super friendly and loads of fun.  They have been together for a year and a half and are already opening at HOB!! I love their music and they have THE most enthusiastic bassist EVER. I can't wait to see what they do in the future.

The second band was Cold...i didn't really like their music. Or their performance for that matter.  They were very good live -- well they sounded good. BUT they were very depressing and dark and I just wasn't feeling it.

The headlining band that we bought the tickets to see was Volbeat

They are incredible live. The lead singer sounds amazing live -- as good as the cd. That is always such a relief for me. I can't listen to bands if I find out they are horrible live. You HAVE to be really good live, otherwise I know that you aren't a great performer - that a lot of technology goes into the way your cds sound.
At the end of the night -- the birthday boy looks so happy =)
We had some drinks before we left the house -- I had two then at HOB I had two more...for those who don't know me, understand that 4 drinks for me in a 5 hour time frame is, sad to say, a LOT for little ol' me haha! Needless to say I was definitely buzzed...which was confirmed the next morning when I woke to look through my pictures and found I took 140 the night before -- most of which were taken between 9:30-12:30!! haha Hilarious!
My parents took J and I to Perkins at 12:30am after the concert and it was AMAZING! haha I always want breakfast food when I have been drinking -- especially french toast/pancakes!
Walking into Perkins
I told J that I probably won't ever go to another large venue to see a concert -- HOB was just WAY too much fun!!

Sunday night, while watching Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (which was UNBELIEVABLY cute!!), J and I both got a craving for some s'mores.  We have a glass top stove and we have a gas grill. J didn't feel like firing up the grill so I suggested the microwave. That was deemed lame so J went to his work truck and pulled out a torch.
Yeah -- this happened =)

Do you like going to big crazy concerts?
or do you prefer small, intimate venues?
Have you ever made s'mores using something unconventional -- like a torch?

Dear Rude Person....

The Husband and I had a wonderful weekend together.  He still worked a bit on Saturday but for the most part we spent the weekend together.
I'll talk all about all the things we did the weekend tomorrow but I wanted to share how rude people can be...
We went with some friends to the matinee showing of The Change-Up
It is very funny -- there is an excessive use of the 'F' word, FYI - but it is really funny. Boy humor funny for sure but the group we went with all enjoyed it =) We all laughed a lot at most of the movie!

After we saw the movie, we all grabbed a bite to eat.  We were in the mall for about three and a half hours. When J and I walked to our truck, this is what we found:

Ok so clearly whoever hit his truck FELT it. I mean there were marks on his TIRE for goodness sakes! This isn't like a ding with a car door -- this was full on not paying attention, hit the truck as they were pulling in or out. THEN they just drive off -- no nothing. Not information, or apology or ANYTHING. How cowardly!!! I just don't understand -- FL is no fault so it wouldn't come out of the other person's pocket, the insurance would all deal with it. Be a decent human and if you didn't give your information or try to locate the owner because you don't have insurance, you shouldn't be driving because by law, you have to carry some sort of insurance. So, please people, if you EVER do something like this, please have the courtesy to leave your information, no matter how embarrassed you are about it. OK I think that is enough ranting.

J said it looked like Ford red haha. It is funny to think that different companies use different shades of red, which I know is true, it was just funny that he could 'classify' it =) Luckily, this is J's first claim in over 5 years and he hasn't had a ticket in a long time, so they gave him a credit for being a good driver to go towards his deductible...so it won't be AS much as it would have been. The whole thing still sucks and wasn't really our favorite way to close a weekend lol.
Lesson today, Kids: See The Change-up and be a responsible, decent grown-up. That really isn't asking a whole lot.

What did you do this weekend?

Crazy Stupid Love

Last night I went to the movies with a few friends.
"Watch Crazy, Stupid, Love Online"

This has to be one of the most awkward movies I have ever seen! It was funny and Ryan Gosling is so fun to look at - don't get me wrong - but AWKWARD! It was a train wreck the entire movie and you knew things were going to just get out of control. They did and it was the epitome of some sort of twisted series of unfortunate events. Now I know what you are thinking, this isn't exactly the most flattering of mini-reviews. I enjoyed it a lot, I truly did. I want Emma Stone's best friend in my life because SHE was hilarious. She didn't have a major role but she was that character that when she spoke, you couldn't help but laugh. I definitely recommend seeing this movie but encourage you to go understanding that this isn't your typical Steve Carell movie -- which made me enjoy it that much more.

Did you see it?  Are you going to?

I saw previews for the new Footloose movie. I really need to see the original.  The preview made me want to see the new one that is coming out. Have you seen the original?

What's on your must-see movie list this month?

On another note -- I am currently hoping we feel the effects of Tropical Storm Emily this weekend. Crazy? maybe. BUT if it is raining all day on Saturday and Sunday, J will HAVE to stay home and won't be able to work. He has the day off on Friday so he should be able to get a lot of his work done then and will have the weekend of with me! HOORAY!

Happy Halfway Through The Week! I hope y'all are enjoying the first week in August...
and to REALLY freak you out:

33 Days until Labor Day
89 Days until Halloween
113 Days until Thanksgiving
144 Days until Christmas
150 Days left in 2011

Its My Birthday B!

That's right -- I have now entered the beginning of my second quarter of a century -- that's what one of the women wrote in the card they all signed in my office.  They also got me an amazing gourmet red velvet cupcake from Publix! YUM!

When I first got here this morning, a good friend of mine made me a little happy sign and brought in Panera for me =) how sweet!

I got my shoes yesterday -- they are some of THE most comfortable heels I have ever had on!
They are a little narrow, which isn't a problem for me and my skinny feet. But just be aware if you buy Seychelles brand, it is my experience (with this shoe so far) that they are a narrow shoe.  They are SO cute though and J loves them!

Tonight, I am headed to dinner for my birthday -- I'm so excited about it! I haven't been to this place in years!

Last night, some of the girls and I went to see Soul Surfer.  I knew the story -- I remember when it happened.  but that didn't make it any less traumatic to watch.  I thought they did an amazing job showing the family going through the struggles a normal family would emotionally.  When you see it, please ignore Carrie Underwood.  I love her -- she's beautiful and sweet and I feel like she is very genuine and is an amazingly talented female singer, but an actress she is not. Just saying.  Otherwise -- I was teary through about 50-75% of the movie.  She is so moving and inspiring and I love her determination and the support she had from her amazing family.
Soul Surfer
Go see it -- the story is really incredible. And if you tend to wear your heart on your sleeve like me and my girl Christy, take some tissue.  Thankfully Melissa had extra napkins from the snack bar that she shared with us haha =)

I still hate photobucket -- its only messed with my HTML stuff (ie header and signature) anyone have any tips on how I can make my header without going through another site like photobucket?

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Lazy Saturday

So it's official -- I'm sick =/  I have all the symptoms of a cold except the fever part.  The worst part is my sore throat and husky voice.  Since I am sick, we have decided it's a good idea to lay low all weekend.  After J got home from doing a little work, we watched 3 movies!!
300
Gerard Butler is unreal in this movie and I love the cinematography! There is a lot of fighting (obviously) and blood shed but it's definitely a movie I love having in our collection!

Going the Distance
I really liked Drew Barrymore and Justin Long together; their onscreen chemistry was so great! Christina Applegate did have some instances where she definitely stole the spotlight.  I loved most of her lines! The movie itself definitely inappropriate - with a lot of rude/shocking humor but it was fun to laugh on the couch with The Husband. =)

The Hangover
Enough said haha!
PS: I love Zack Galifianakas -- ESPECIALLY in Out Cold!
Well I think today will be another movie day on the couch =) I'll let you know how it goes! I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!
