{One}
We had our housewarming party on Saturday night and it was a huge success! There was so much love and happiness in our house. It was amazing but can you believe it -- I didn't take a SINGLE picture! I'm really bummed about it and was a bit upset yesterday but honestly I was so busy hosting and giving tours that I just didn't think to pick up the camera.

{Two}
When I am not feeling on top of the world, I generally don't take pictures =/ I wasn't loving the way I looked on Saturday night so that MAY be part of the reason that I didn't think about a camera too.

{Three}
After work today, The Husband and I are going to pick out a Christmas Tree!!! I am so so excited to decorate this year!

{Four}
I am going to be getting a lot of my Christmas shopping finished up at lunch today! WOO! I'm thrilled about that! I am also making a trip to the craft store for a couple things to make some homemade gifts as well as a couple home decor projects for Christmas this year =) I hope to be very busy after work this week getting it all together =)

{Five}
I'm going to start sharing house pictures tomorrow!! I'm so excited TO FINALLY have the time to share the pictures =) I'll probably do one or two rooms at a time and show you before, during, and after so that you can see the transition.

{Six}
I struggle every year coming up with a Christmas list for anyone or ideas for myself. I'm pretty good about getting things together for other people but I can't really come up with ideas for myself! I try to think of things ALL year but I either forget or eventually buy it on my own! OOPS! =)

{Seven}
My office Christmas party is next week after work and I am really looking forward to it =) I have been coming up with the Christmas gift exchange gift that I want to have...we do a Chinese Gift Exchange every year at the party.  I really lobbied hard to have a Secret Santa this year and everyone was supportive of the idea. Then the boss sent out the invite for the party and said we are doing the exchange. Needless to say I was a little bummed. =/ I like buying for specific people and not just random...I LOVE doing personal gifts. Oh well -- I am still excited about what I am bringing even if I can't make it SUPER personal.

{Eight}
Last year, a group of my girlfriends started a Christmas Cookie Party tradition. Next week will be the 2nd Annual Cookie Party. I have been looking forward to this for month! We had so much fun last year -- you can read about it here. I am going to be late to it though because of the office party BUT that's OK I'm just happy to be able to be a part of it! =)

I just love this time of the year -- the decorations, the parties, the giving, the food, and all the love and happiness that is shared amongst friends and family!
What are your holiday traditions?

Miscellany Monday

Hello Out There!!!
Sorry I was MIA last week! I took a much needed break.  The month of August was a roller coaster -- The Husband and I are really really looking forward to September. Not necessarily because we have anything going on as of now but because August is over lol.

I took last week off to kind of re-group. So here is what has been going on :

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

2 weeks ago our A/C quit working!! We are working on buying a new house so a lot of our funds are off limits.  There are also other circumstances that keep us from spending the $1200 it would take to fix it. So right now we basically live in our bedroom with a window unit. Our room stays very comfortable -- the rest of the house....not so much! =/

I have started eating better since this post. I feel better already and this weekend I started a new work out routine that I am excited about.  It is something I put together on my own that has some variety in it and allows me to interchange days/work outs.

 I was in a car accident last Wednesday morning on my way to work =(

my poor car! They came and hauled it off and I should hear back regarding the damage sometime in the next couple days. I walked away unharmed and the guy I hit was in a Dodge 2500 with a life gate -- AKA NO DAMAGE to his vehicle.

I started color blocking the house, trying to find the perfect color(s) for when we move into the new house.
J originally picked this color:
He said it was too dark so we tried the same color card but the lighter shade.

He is much happier with this color -- so this will be the color for the 'man-room' and also, the laundry room and the accent color in the craft room.
We also set out to find the perfect color for MOST of the house.

We determined these two colors were too drab and too gray based. so we went for a warmer tone.
I think we have a winner. We are really happy with this color!!
Now I just need to figure out the gray shades for the master bed and bath.

Something else I worked on last week and this weekend was this little beauty:

Why, yes, it IS a hot mess. It was free and will provide wonderful storage in the craft room. The piece itself is good quality and very solid...it has seen some abuse though. Thankfully none of the wood is splintered, it is just a mess on the surface of the piece.   I have been refinishing it for the past week. I can't wait to show you the after pictures!

Still no closing date =( It has been about 5 weeks and I am tired of waiting. Every Sunday night, J and I say to one another, maybe we'll get a closing date this week. I'm really hoping we hear something soon. I know our realtor is starting to get annoyed - she copies me on the emails to the selling agent haha! She is even wondering why this is taking as long as it is.

Well, I think that about covers everything and catches me up!

What has been going on in your life??

Miscellany Monday

I don't know if I am disappointed or relieved its Monday -- how sad is that?! I am just SO exhausted -- I don't have it in me to share much.  SO I am linking up with lowercase letters for some MM.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{1} My sissy's bridal shower was a huge success!! I am so happy she had such an amazing time and I can't wait to share all the details, pictures and games with you! In the meantime, here are just a few teasers.

{2} We were almost rained out of the bachelorette party -- so we had to improvise and ended up at Howl at the Moon. I was DD so it wasn't over the top fun for me, but I was highly enteretained people watching and seeing my baby sis let loose =) I am so happy I was able to plan it all out for her and make it so that she had an awesome time.  More teasers from that....

{3} She made us all shirts to wear while getting ready, so we wore them to breakfast on Sunday morning.

{4} Have I mentioned I am exhausted?!

{5} Most of Sunday I spent in and out of sleep.  I did the good wifey thing and cleaned/did laundry -- which didn't take long. Thank goodness we maintain throughout the week!!

{6} My daddy was in Reno for the National Bowling Tournament, but J and I did spend Sunday night dinner with his family.  We surprised his dad by taking him to Vito's chophouse. WOW! It was divine! I had a Hawaiian Cosmo and it was fabulous. OH and we all split an Almond Tiramisu which was heavenly! YUM!

{7} We went and looked at houses on Friday afternoon.  I was disappointed in most of them. Seriously -- some people are just SO dirty! OH! AND the first house we stopped at had the tenant THERE. He didn't have a shirt on and kind of gave off a creepy vibe. YUCK! WORD OF ADVICE: If you ever sell your house, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE for the love of all things not creepy -- do NOT be in the house while it is being shown.  AWKWARD!

{8} I am NOT in the mood to do anything today. I told J that we are NOT making plans for this coming weekend. It isn't allowed. I'm just so tired and I am tired of not being able to sleep past 6 because we have had so much going on. AND I am tired of having so much going on...I am ready for a day of relaxation.  Hopefully we get that here this next weekend.

{9} I hope this week goes by quickly and smoothly -- have I mentioned how tired I am?! I need to also get back in a workout routine...maybe I will get back into it tonight??...But then again I am spending tonight celebrating Father's Day with my Daddy since he will be back from Reno in a few hours =)

{10} I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that the coming week is kind to you lol!

What are your random thoughts this Monday Morning?

Miscellany Monday

I'm linking up with lowercase letters for another edition of:
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one.}
I can't believe the weekend is already over.  I had a wonderful weekend, I did, but it flew by in a flash. It is shocking to think that Monday is already here. I'm not ready to be out of bed; furthermore, I am not ready to be working.  oh well; I'll get over it! =)

{two.}
Thank you for all the crossed fingers/toes, positive vibes and prayers regarding our offer on the home. The seller went with a lower, cash offer.  J made a good point that perhaps they knew the buyer as they went against their agent's advice.  I was bummed but when we hadn't heard by Friday afternoon, I was fairly certain that we weren't the 'winners' of the contract.

{three.}
We ended up placing an offer on another house last night. The land for this one is much better and we really like the layout. Land is a little important for us as J has a lot of boy toys that we currently keep at our home. We didn't want to have to pay to store any of it but were (shockingly) willing to make that sacrifice if needed for the home we placed an offer on last week.
This home does not require that sacrifice -- it is nice and spacious, and while the master is a little smaller than we hoped, it is still bigger than what we are in. There are several upgrades to the home and it mainly requires painting. This house is definitely better suited for us and our needs so hopefully.....
We should hear back by Wednesday, so if you could spare a moment, we could use the thoughts/vibes/prayers again. Y'all Rock!

{four.}
I was a craft-a-holic this weekend. I am so antsy to share with y'all the projects I have been working on, but, alas, I can not. I must wait until after next weekend. Yes, all the projects are part of my sister's shower. I can't wait to show you some of the fun stuff! J even helped this weekend...he is much craftier than I have ever given him credit for being.

{five.}
I have felt very stressed for the past few months.  It is starting to wear on me. =/ I have been working out more and crafting, because those are the things that usually help with my stress levels. For some reason, this go-round, those things aren't helping. Any tips? I know I (and J) would be very appreciative of any ideas.  I'm willing to try just about anything haha.

{six.}
I'm also annoyed. There is an associate who is supposed to be helping line up all our 'ducks' to sell the current house in which we live, however she SUCKS at response.  She never returns my emails or calls.  Last week she FINALLY called me and since then I haven't heard back from her regarding whether or not she needs additional information or if she acquired any new information from J's lender. This woman is NOT helping with my stress level.  I think I am going to have to get tough and get another person assigned to J's sale...

{seven.}
I am looking forward to picking out paint colors and light fixtures. I may wander into Lowe's at lunch and looko at paint cards. I have an idea of what I want in whatever house we buy, maybe the uncertainty of it all right now is what is weighing me down a little. I'm hoping if I pick out some paint colors, that will help me out and put one of the hundreds of thoughts/ideas out of my mind -- I mean, that WOULD be one less thing to think about! I'll share the colors when I narrow them down =)

{eight.}
My baby sister's bridal shower/bachelorette party weekend is in two weeks! I can't believe she will be getting married in about SEVEN WEEKS! I am so happy for her and love that she has found someone to be her best friend and spend the rest of her life with -- Douggie-Fresh is pretty awesome =)

{nine.}
I got my Summer Blog Swap package on Thursday...I think it was Thursday haha!! I haven't uploaded pictures of it yet but it is SO cute! My partner was Allison over at WWMSD: What Would Martha Stewart Do? It consisted of all the items needed to have a fun summer lemonade mixer: Key lime lemonade mix, summer-y pitcher/glass set and cute pink plastic ice cubes!!  I love it and it is so cute! PLUS She sent me some pink shot glasses...AMAZING. Check her out here.

{ten.}
I just got a call from our realtor, who spoke with the agent regarding the home we placed an offer on and he told her that we are the only contract they have. YAY! He also told her that the reason the home went BACK on the market is because the previous buyer didn't work out. AND all the inspections were good...no structural damage of any kind. So far so good! YAY GOOD NEWS! =)

Alright -- I think that does it for now...I may be posting less this week OR you will get a lot of brain dumps. Hang in there for me -- I could definitely use a little guidance, thoughts, advice, kick in the butt...help a sist-ah out! =) Happy Monday Y'all -- here's to a swift and painless week!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

One.
Welcome Back to Monday!!! Who's excited?! I'm not going to lie -- I could have used one more day at home with The Husband. At least he won't be gone this week so I'll have nights all for me!

Two.
I have been daydreaming about redecorating and repainting.  I refuse to make any changes to our current home as we are looking to buy, so I dream about what I'll do. I have our bedroom figured out for the most part -- black, gray and white with yellow accents.  It is going to be AMAZING! I have been dreaming about my new craft room.  I quickly outgrew the one I redid at our current home. I can't wait to get into a new home!

Three.
I have to get the invitations for my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette party finished in a hurry! I want to have them mailed out by Monday!!! I only have one designed and UN-printed and the other I haven't started! EEK!! Oh how I wish I wasn't such an amazing procrastinator!

Four.
I have 2 weddings to go to this month -- my cousin, whose invitations I made and a very sweet friend of ours, who is getting married the following weekend.

Five.
I am planning a 'date' with a very sweet lady this weekend...I have to just get the Husband to change his work day this weekend -- Chick-fil-a isn't open on Sunday =/ Yes food is the reason I want my husband to rearrange his whole schedule =) Quality right?!

Six.
Along with the invitations -- I have other projects to complete before the pretty girls of my sister's bridal party show up in June.  I keep putting it off but 2 of the 4 weekends in May are booked with wedding stuff so those are out!

Seven.
I am making a dress for my cousin's wedding next weekend.  I better hurry and get a move on!

Eight.
I gave the dog a bath this weekend. That's quite a feat but I must say, i'm a big cheater.  I don't take him to a groomer, I take him to the lake.  Yep, I trick my sweet pup into thinking we are playing a swimming, meanwhile I bathe him with eco-friendly pet shampoo. I throw the ball into the lake, he brings it to me, I soap him up and throw the ball again. Its painless =) AND its play time for him!

Nine.
I'm sleepy. I can't wait to go home and get into some comfy clothes and cuddle on the couch!

Ten.

Miscellany Monday

Good Afternoon World! Last week was a rough week ... I'm not going to go into details but it was rough, to say the least. and exhausting. So I thought I would make today's post a tiny bit mindless and easy on me =)

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
 I tried 2 new restaurants last week:
B2 Cafe
they serve breakfast ALL DAY. HEAVEN! And it is kinda like a subway but its all bagels and wraps! YUM! I eat the bacon/egg/cheese bagel -- they put bacon/egg/cheese on each side of the bagel making it too big to be a sandwich lol. Its so yummy and fairly inexpensive: $4 and I'm STUFFED!

Jimmy Hula's
Jimmy Hula
I had blackened Mahi tacos. DELICIOUS! I wish I would have had my camera with me that day.  It was so good: I had fresca salsa, a little bit of sour cream, cheese and guacomole! SO good.  J had a teriyaki burger that he said was fabulous. I told my dad about it -- I think he would really like it so maybe I will have to entice him to have lunch with me one day this week =)
 two.
We watched Due Date this weekend.  I am still undecided...only because WHO would actually put up with that crap for as long as he did...I understand there were circumstances that almost forced him but I don't know.  maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind to enjoy the movie? I'll try again. J on the other hand, thought it was hilarious. I did laugh a lot but there were some VERY awkward moments, where I was uncomfortable watching it haha.

three.
I will have one of my credit cards paid off by the end of the month!! WOO!!! Then I only have one to pay off!! I can't believe it! I'm so thrilled -- its unreal =) We are thinking we should be able to pay it off by the end of June if we just stick to the budget we have created for ourselves.  Then its save, save, SAVE! THEN -- NEW HOUSE! WOO!!! I'm so excited but nervous!

four.
Speaking of new homes, my sister and her fiance just bought their first home this weekend! I am so proud of them and very very excited!! They close on the 31st of May!

 five.
I have started P90X again last week and I'm incorporating running into the training beginning tonight. I have a 5k to run with my company next Thursday and I want to start training for the half marathon me and the girls are talking about participating in at the end of the year.  I REALLY want to improve my time, so the sooner I start training, the better my chances to incorporate some speed training.

six.
Since the blue shoes J bought me for our anniversary had to be returned, he is letting me pick another pair.  I have decided to go with something a little more practical as far as heel height and comfort are concerned.  These are the beauties I am trying to decide on. which should I choose to spend my $20 in rewards/certificates in?
 Rocket Dog Womens Orient Shoes Cloud Grey
help me out QUICK! so I can order them and share pictures!
 seven.
I went and picked out the purse and wallet that I wanted for my birthday last night! I can't wait to get them! They are currently being held hostage by the gift givers but that's OK.  Just a few more days -- yep, my birthday is next Wednesday!! YIPPEEE!! I have decided to embrace every year; even though, in reality I don't feel any older - ever!  I want to age with grace =)

 eight.
J and I have decided not to plan anything for this coming weekend.  He will have to work a little but the rest of the time will be designated for one another. We DO have plans for dinner on Sunday night for a friend's birthday, which will definitely NOT be missed.  Otherwise, we will not make plans without the input of both parties lol.  Its the only way we are going to get to spend time together! haha sad right!? I guess that's what happens when you have friends and family who love you and want to spend time with you =) SO its a blessing to have such amazing people in our lives that we have to create special alone time for one another.

I think that does it for today peeps! I hope you are having a beautiful start to your week -- today is high close to 90*!!! EEEK!!! So much for a cool Spring!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
{1}
I started getting a cold sore yesterday afternoon.  I took some meds but this morning it was worse =( Now my mouth hurts. dislike!

{2}
The shoes The Husband ordered me came in on Saturday.  They are BEAUTIFUL! They are also a 1/2 size too small!! =( I'm so sad because now they are out of stock....so I guess it wasn't meant to be.

{3}
I'm so clumsy -- this morning I burnt my face wtih my straightener.  I blame it on being tired.

{4}
I had a fabulous weekend with my girl Christina! We celebrated her bachelorette party on Saturday by going to Vixen Fitness, where we took 2 types of dance classes...that's right people.  We tried our hand at pole and chair dancing.  I'm not going to lie, I think we were all a little intimidated at first but we had a FABULOUS time! I definitely like the pole part better than the chair. =)

{5}
My girl is getting married on Saturday!! As in FIVE days!! I'm so so excited for her!!

{6}
I have a half day on Friday so that I can go get pampered with the girls before the rehearsal.

{7}
There are 3 and 1/2 weeks until  my birthday! I normally don't get overly excited but this year I feel very enthusiastic about it -- maybe because my friends are excited too??

{8}
After this weekend, I am going to have to kick it into high gear and get things moving for my sister's bridal shower/bachelorette party stuff.  Invitations are first =) THEN gifts and organizing the details for the parties.  Plus a couple crafty DIY items -- I can't wait to share...but that will have to wait until After June 18th =/ BOO!! haha!

{9}
I bought a new nail polish last week at Target -- it was very inexpensive but it gorgeous! It is by Sinful Colors Professional -- i am loving this brand already! The color I bought is called Cream Pink
They have an amazing range of colors -- check out the website here.

{10}
I am going to be able to catch up on your blogs -- things are slowing down for me again. YAY! I have missed y'all and your words =)

{11}
I'm tired -- The Husband and I need to make it to bed earlier.  I didn't get to sleep much this weekend which is a bummer.  I'm looking forward to crawling into bed before midnight haha =)

Happy Monday!

{1}
I have a 4 day work week this week!! The Husband and I have taken Friday off to spend 3 days of bliss together! I still can't believe our anniversary is right around the corner!

{2}
Our FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY is SUNDAY!!!!!!

{3}
We still haven't finalized what we are doing for our anniversary.  I think we will play it by ear and just spend lots and lots of uninterrupted time together =)

{4}
I went to Chick-fil-a with a friend today for lunch.  They were giving away samples of the banana pudding milkshake -- I don't think I could drink more than a small of this flavor but it was delicious!!! Go ahead, you should try it =)

{5}
We have had to deal with some drama silliness in our group and it makes me sad...actually I'm not so much sad as I am mad about it.  I hate to see my friends hurting.  It makes me want to punch someone in the face -- don't tempt me, I might! ;)

{6}
I can't find cute pants =( I don't want full on dress pants -- I want cargo type pants without the cargo.  And some cute khakis...it seems that since we are in between seasons that it is hard to come across this particular item.  *sigh* I guess I will keep looking and wait.

{7}
Have you seen the Katy Perry line by OPI?!  My friend bought the shatter and it is so cool!! I am definitely wanting some of the fabulous colors in the Katy Perry line.  I may have to try her shatter tonight when I see her and I will let you know how it goes =)

{8}
I'm still trying to figure out a way to record us to share with y'all.  I have a friend whose boyfriend is majoring in recording and wants to record me singing.  For him to practice and me to have a recording of my singing.  Super cool.  We are still working out time and details. You will get some clips as soon as I do =)

{9}
My 'twisted sister' is getting married 2 weeks from Saturday!!! I am so excited for her!! She is really going to be such a beautiful bride!! I can't wait!

{10}
Another very close friend will be celebrating her fifth year of marriage 2 weeks from Friday! I'm so happy for them and love how happy and in love they are.

{11}
I really hope the NFL doesn't Lock-Out for the 2011 season.  I know I will find something to do but if they lock-out, I don't know that I would go back to watching it. =/  I am hoping they can come to some agreement before the 7 day extention expires.

{12}
I love the cast of Danicing with the Stars this season!! I told The Husband we will be dvr-ing the series this year =)

Alrighty peeps! Have a Marvelous Monday!! And go link up with lowercase letters for Miscellany Monday!

Project 52 - Week 4: Reflection
& Miscellany Monday

First Off -- since everyone has been posting pictures of the weather in their neck of the woods, I thought I would post one to share from Florida that I took on Saturday while walking the D-O-G.
It was warm-ish on Saturday -- like 70*! But we had a great time walking.  This is where I found my inspiration for Week 4 of the Project 52: Reflection
The water was SO calm and just perfect for this challenge. AND Ruger was even cooperative. =)

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
--I'm still sick. =/ I stayed on the couch all weekend, except when I took the dog for a walk on Saturday morning.  How am I still sick?! I took cold medicine and drank lots of fluids! ugh! I'm staying home on the couch another day in hopes of getting better by tomorrow.  Do you think that's possible??

--We watched more movies since I was restricted to the couch yesterday:
Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Con Air

Men In Black

Casino Royale
Casino Royale Poster

We also spent time catching up on some of our shows: Modern Family, Rules of Engagement & Castle.

--I have to call in this afternoon to see if I have jury duty tomorrow.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I DO NOT have it, especially since I am not going into work today, I will need to get my work done tomorrow.

--I love my husband! He took care of me all weekend and made some fresh squeezed orange juice in hopes to help me feel better. He also gave me lots of hugs and cuddles and consequently, he started getting sick.  THANKFULLY he isn't stubborn and took some meds immediately.  He never got what I have and is feeling great today; Lukcy!

I hope you all had lovely weekends!
