Picking Out The Perfect Outfit....

Happy Monday!
welll....maybe happy Monday.  it IS still Monday after all!
My weekend was good - BUSY which means it FLEW by and I didn't get a whole lot of time to relax. BUT it was a good weekend spent with The Husband, which is always a plus =)

I find that I am more sore today from my 9 mile run on Saturday than I was yesterday but that may be because we were doing so much yesterday? Regardless, I'm tired and sore and have a lot on my mind - the biggest (probably not more important) is finding a blue or purple shirt to wear for family pictures on Saturday. Every year, my parents, sister, and I always take a family photo (see here from 2010) apparently I didn't share last year's photo (which was awesome)...shame on me! This family photo is sent out with our Christmas poem every year. It is usually a lot of fun doing the pictures.  Last year was the first time we did a pro picture and it turned out beautifully! So this year we are going with a different studio.  I don't know if I love that it will be in a studio; i prefer outdoor shoots.  All I can envision is ending up on AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com  or that episode of Friends where Chandler can't take a good picture for his and Monica's engagement announcement.

Anyhow - my mother just scheduled a photo session for this coming Saturday.  So naturally this PAST Saturday was spent trying to find outfits. EVERYONE found an outfit EXCEPT for me! Of course! So now I am trying to figure out where I want to go to look for something. That my friends, is my deep thinking so far today lol =)

Alright - time to get to work but FIRST, here is a picture from work last Friday.  We all wore pink for National Breast Cancer Awareness Day:

Aren't we so pretty?!

AND here is one of my favorite shirts I have seen so far this year for Breast Cancer Awareness/Find a Cure:

142 Cupcakes and Being Busy at Work

HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!!!

I am SO SUPER busy at work!
I get there early and leave late. I'm swamped!
By the time I get home, I am SO tired, I am not doing anything except relaxing.

Except for last night - I baked 142 cupcakes
Actually I made 144 cupcakes - but The Husband thought he needed to taste test.
And yes, they were mini - not full sized. But still.

I made them to sell for Relay for Life.
My mom and sister each have a team, my sister is the Chair Person for the event.
Silly girl - she can't help but volunteer.  She already has a lot on her plate...
but it is for a good cause. And I will go and support them! =) YAY!

I have no plans for the weekend other than helping with this event.
I'm hoping for a relaxing Sunday and maybe a crafty Saturday.
I know - how boring am I?!
But seriously - I have to have some down time where I am not stressed.
Work has me stressed to the max and I'm just exhausted.

On top of that silliness, I think I am getting sick =(
I plan on running 3-4 miles tonight at the relay in hopes of pushing it out of my system.
Oh and I am totally going back to get this watch:
I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since trying it on
and it is like 60% less than retail! I should have just gotten it yesterday...
but that isn't my style ;)

What are you getting into this weekend??

Saddest Day of the Year?!

Did you know that?? Yep - yesterday was the saddest day of the year...some experts somewhere determined that. weird right - our money is paying for THAT research/development? So how was your yesterday? Was it really sad? Was it sad because you knew it was supposed to be?? Mine wasn't - mine was actually a pretty great day =)

If yesterday was the saddest - today should be deemed the most frustrating. Across the board today I have experienced frustration. Ok Ok - let us not get TOO dramatic. It hasn't been THAT bad but I have experienced frustration on some level since I woke up this morning. THAT doesn't bode well.

I really want to shop - like some SERIOUS retail shopping. Did you know studies have shown that people are actually happier when they shop? Something about the releasing of endorphins or something or other...and we all know: "...endorphins make you happy; happy people don't shoot their husbands; they just don't"
Ah - good ol' Elle Woods - now I want to go home and watch Legally Blonde!

You know the REALLY annoying thing - I shouldn't shop right now. We are still sorta trying to catch up from Christmas and all the renovations of the house...man that stuff is COSTLY! BUT I cheated =) yep! I did! It made me happy =) so I guess those studies were true!

Yesterday I went to BB&B (Bed, Bath, & Beyond) and bought a couple things for the walls. I will have to show you pictures when we are finished =) Oh I cheated by using a gift card my sweet friend Krissy and her husband gave us as a house warming present. I DID end up spending like $9.50 but for the items I purchased - that was a steal!
THEN today I realized I had reward points for both Amazon AND Best Buy oh AND a Best Buy gift card. So I bought myself some new pressed powder from Amazon for like HALF what it costs in stores. and then on Best Buy I bought The Hubster and I a couple cds and some movies =) all with only the reward points and gift card!

The ONLY thing I don't love about shopping online is that I have to wait for it all to be delivered. I know that sounds silly but I'm a instant gratification kind of girl! When I buy something, I want to immediately put it to use! Seriously - the stuff I bought yesterday, I had The Husband help me put it up last night. The walls aren't completed yet - which is why the picture will have to wait =)

How's your week so far?
Do you like shopping online?
Are you an instant gratification girl like me??

The Fabulous Freckle Is No More

Hey Peeps! How goes it?!
So I had my out-patient minor surgery on Friday morning.  They numbed my finger and I couldn’t feel it AT ALL until close to 4 that afternoon!! Weirdest thing I have experienced in a while.  I had to have it taped up so I didn’t pop the stitches for the first 24 hours.  I took the tape off as soon as I could on Saturday morning to check out the doc’s handy work.  It wasn’t very pretty Saturday morning and I was a little pouty.  As the weekend progressed it started to look better and better as the swelling subsided.  I have 2 teeny tiny stitches and it is healing really well.  I won’t share pictures with you as I don’t want to make you queasy. You’re welcome, Christina haha ;)
As for the rest of my weekend, it was fairly low key – especially Sunday, which was spent on the couch with The Husband all day.  That is my kind of day! =)
I have a feeling I am one of few that actually have to work today --  President’s Day. However, after work I have a shopping trip planned with the lil’ sis! YAY! I haven’t been shopping in a while – at least not for stuff that I want.  I am looking to score some new tops – so we shall see what kinds of sales are out there!
RUFFLED-SLEEVE NOTCHED-FRONT TOP  Lace Tiered Top 6 Degrees Top, Scoop Neck Short Sleeve Polkadotted Bow Tie
Tonight I finally get to hop back on the fitness train.  I have been sick for 3 weeks with symptoms of not being able to breathe haha. SO workout took a back seat unfortunately. Tonight I plan to do treadmill (hooray!) and begin Week 4 of P90X...no I didn't skip the first 3 weeks...I did those successfully before I got sick. Luckily I have been able to maintain and keep the weight off that I had lost while working out. I started upping my intake for energy yesterday and have felt so good the past couple of days - I am seriously looking forward to getting back to my training.
I painted my nails last night an awesome shade of pink.  It's Nicole Collection by OPI and the color is Ink a Dink a Pink

I know pale pink is 'in' right now but this shade of hot pink really lifts my spirits and makes me happy =)
Happy President's Day Everyone!

A Recap of Sorts %

Since I saw HP7 I have really been in the mood to watch the first 6 movies.  These movies happen to be on my Day Zero Project list.  Last week, J and I watched HP 1 & 2.  He swore to me he would NEVER watch the movies and was sure he wouldn't enjoy them.  Yeah, he is enjoying the entertainment factor of the movies and keeps saying 'hey lets watch the next one'. =)
I finished my book "Dark Summer".  Iris Johansen writes suspense/mystery with a hint of paranormal.  I enjoyed this book and found it to be a page turner.  It was fun but definitely a little out there =) But I LOVE Iris Johansen and her Eve Duncan saga. You should look into it =)
This weekend J and I watched Shooter.  It's pretty amazing and Mark Whalberg is such a stud! I had seen the movie before, several years ago but it's entertaining.  And did I mention Mark Whalberg -- he is so fun to look at...
I realized this morning that I didn't take ONE picture this weekend =/ AND I was with all kinds of family! I am going to blame it on the fact that I was pretty tired most of the weekend.
Thursday was the Turkey Trot...I've decided 3 days was not enough recovery time after my first half marathon. Oh well I completed it with a less than stellar time but, eh, it was fun. AND I had talked my parents into going and participating!
We had Thanksgiving lunch at my parents and then went to J's parent's for Thanksgiving dinner.  All in all, there was a lot of food consumed that day! =)
Friday I met up with my mom at 3:30!!! ick! Actually it was a lot of fun and people were really friendly.  I went to Best Buy for the first and last time on Black Friday.  Seriously - we were in line for an HOUR to check out.  Otherwise, the lines moved quickly and I spent a good portion of the day with my mom.
We still haven't gotten a tree =/ booo! BUT I am determined to talk J into taking me this weekend and at the VERY latest on Saturday. FINGERS CROSSED please!
Last but not least, I am FINALLY going to do my Rock the Dress shoot this coming Sunday! I am SO looking forward to it and am going to spend a lot of time this week looking for inspiration shots and ideas.  J is even going to participate! I can't wait!!

12 Days of Christmas: Day 2

Day 2: Black Friday/General Shopping Tips & Tricks

I generally find myself in the crowds the day after Thanksgiving.  I swear every year that I won't go back out, but then it's the night before and I find myself making plans.  In the past, I usually go with my mom and sometimes my sister.  We never wait outside for the deals, we try not to get to a store before it opens.  No deal is THAT good!!  We get a lot of holiday shopping finished and I enjoy the crowds and Christmas music. A few years ago I did make the trip out with J's brother's girlfriend.  We went to the mall and then went to breakfast at Panera.  It was fun and we had a good time.  It's funny to think about now because at breakfast we had kind of talked about weddings -- even though at the time, neither of us were engaged.
I don't run through the stores or plow into people.  I don't cause a scene or tear items from other people's hands.  I hope to find whatever it is I am searching for but make sure to keep my feelings in check so as not to be overwhelmed by disappointment if they don't. =)  I don't really have any plan of action when I go out that morning.
I have learned to love the internet and online shopping.  I seem to always find the best deals online, however, to compete, there are a lot of stores that will beat the online price.  I learned that onlines sites, Target/Kohl's/etc. COMPETE with the in-store sales.  I try to find what I believe to be the best price on an item online and then take that price to the stores with me JUST IN CASE I don't find a better deal.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
This year I believe I am going shopping with my mom on Black Friday -- but nothing has been officially decided. =) Happy Shopping!
